Who Can Benefit?

Electrolysis is the only form of permanent hair removal that has been proven to work on all skin and hair types, race, age and colors. Electrolysis is safe and effective.

You are not alone!

Statistics show that most people have facial or body hair, which they feel detracts from their appearance. Superfluous hair growth is often the result of normal biologic changes in which both males and females undergo throughout life.

As humans advance through puberty, pregnancies, menopause, midlife and aging, fluctuations in hormone levels in both genders may cause increased hair growth in areas that have never before been affected. Excessive hair may also be due to diverse causes as heredity, medication side effects and stress.

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis involves permanently removing hair utilizing a fine, stainless steel, sterilized, disposable probe and electrical current. The probe, about the diameter of the hair, is carefully inserted into the follicle alongside the hair. A small amount of electricity is administered; just enough so the hair can be removed without resistance and the skin is not harmed.

There are three recognized methods of electrolysis:

A high frequency current or radio wave.
When it comes in contact with normal body fluids in the hair follicle, it generates a low-level heat which cauterizes and destroys the dermal papilla.

A direct current that converts normal body salts and moisture in the hair follicle into a chemical solution capable of destroying the dermal papilla.

A combination of both currents working together in the follicle. Thermolysis at a very low level enhances the destructive action of the galvanic current.

Treatment FAQs

Is it Permanent?

Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal that is deemed Permanent by the AMA (American Medical Association) and the FDA (Federal Drug Administration). Electrolysis involves labor intensive, intricate, precision procedures that require professional judgment. This must be performed by a skilled practitioner for optimal results.

Following a consistent treatment will significantly influence progress. As treatment progresses and hair growth decreases, sessions become less frequent and shorter in duration.

How long does treatment take?

Depending on the area to be treated and the individual needs of the client, each session can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours.

What does it feel like?

Many clients liken this sensation to that which occurs with common tweezing. The sensation should not be a deterrent as it is minimal and the end result will be well worth any small amount of discomfort.

What about Laser Hair Reduction?

The FDA recognized electrolysis as the ONLY permanent method of hair removal. Lasers have been cleared for permanent reduction and therefore will not result in permanent removal of all hair.
